Data Retention & Historical Analytics
At Linkryse, we process millions of events. To keep our service affordable (and our free plan free), we have a specific policy regarding how long we store detailed data.
Your Totals Never Expire
We keep your Total Click Counts forever. Even if you are on the Free plan, your dashboard will always show the correct lifetime number of clicks your link has received.
Raw Data vs. Aggregated Data
It is important to understand the difference between the two types of data we store:
- Aggregated Data (Kept Forever): This is the summary. Example: “Link A got 5,000 clicks in 2024.” We never delete this.
- Raw Data (Expires): This is the detailed log of every single click. Example: “A user on an iPhone in London clicked at 10:42 AM.” This data takes up massive storage space and is deleted based on your plan’s retention limit.
Retention Limits by Plan
Your plan determines how far back you can see detailed breakdowns (like “Top Cities” or “Device Types”).
| Plan | Raw Data Retention |
|---|---|
| Starter (Free) | 30 Days |
| Hobby | 90 Days (3 Months) |
| Pro | 365 Days (1 Year) |
| Business | 730 Days (2 Years) |
Important: The “Upgrade Rule”
Data pruning is permanent. Once raw data is older than your plan’s limit (e.g., 30 days), it is permanently deleted from our servers to free up space.
Warning: Upgrading does not restore old data
If you are on the Free plan and wait 60 days to upgrade to Pro, you cannot recover the detailed logs from 2 months ago. They are already gone. We recommend upgrading before you need long-term historical reports.
